The employment of people from Ukraine in Poland is not surprising. Every day, the offices issue dozens of work permits and invitations. Many excellent qualified specialists come to us from across the eastern border. Despite the huge migration, the demand in Poland for workers from the east is still growing.
Why do people from Ukraine willingly come to Poland?
In Poland, the living conditions are much better than in Ukraine, more prospects and the possibility of development. It is said that people from Ukraine come to Poland to earn money to support themselves and their relatives who stayed in their country. It often happens that people from across the Bug come on a biometric passport with a stamp that allows them to enter Poland and take up gainful employment for 90 days from the date of entry, and then, when they earn money, they return to their country. However, most of them return to the country to obtain a visa only because they want to settle down permanently. Many people learn Polish to be able to work normally, pay taxes and operate in the same way as they would in their home country – but with better prospects for the future. For example, a doctor earns several times more in Poland than in Ukraine. gives them opportunities and better rates, which makes them migrate with whole families, and finally want to settle down permanently. It is visible especially in big cities. Many positions in the HR industry, among others, require potential candidates to be fluent in Ukrainian or Russian, due to the fact that people from Ukraine cannot say a few simple sentences in Polish.

Is it worth employing foreigners?
There are differences among Poles about whether it is worth employing people from another country. It is believed that the rates for our neighbors are much lower than for Poles, and all the positions that our countrymen do not want to take – will be taken by foreigners. This is a myth because people from Ukraine do not want to work for the minimum national wage, especially in larger cities because the cost of living is much higher than in smaller cities. Qualified people, especially those who graduated from universities in Poland, will not work for a small fee. Knowing the language and having appropriate competences, the earnings of people from abroad do not differ from the salaries of Poles. Is it worth employing such people? It’s hard to define, it is an individual matter, while people from Ukraine are often people with extensive experience, qualified, and if they know Polish, the barriers are reduced. An advantage for such people will be a Pole’s card or a permanent residence card. Working for Ukrainians in Poland will be a very long time, because many Poles do not want to work for their low wages, and people from Ukraine have a relatively short time to find a job.
